Media Player won't play

    Question

  • I have reinstalled Windows 7 from the factory back up on the drive, saving my files.  Media player now will not play some files expecting me to update DRM at link http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp?force=1 but no matter what i do the button stays greyed out.

I have run scannow (no problems) tried to update media player but no change it still refuses to play some track.

    Help Please

  • 1st,Win Media player must be installed thru Win components, usually it is,but check.Next,Sfc is a great tool.but it gets ran in cmd,R.click on cmd,run in Administive mode. Then to run it,its: Sfc /Scannow  scannow wont cut it.

Once its thru, type: CHKDSK C: /F   agree to restart, type: EXIT  restart pc.Last,Win media player has a diagnostic utility, its called: WMDIAG  its pretty easy.

  • Hi,

    Is there any error message?

Please try to use build-in troubleshooter.

    1. Type troubleshooting in search box, then press Enter.

    2. Click View all on the left panel.

    3. Click Windows Media Player Settings -> Next.

In addition, please check for and install any available updates. (Type Check for updates in search box , then select Check for updates. )
