Is there a way to create MS Project tasks from email? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to figure out if there is a way to CREATE MS Project tasks directly from email.  Specifically, if a certain email comes in, it can create a task?  I have not seen anything like this referenced on the Support or Forums site, but wanted to see if there's a way to do it.  Currently using MS Project 2016.

    Thanks,

    John

  • John,

In short, no. Oh you could possibly do something using VBA between Outlook and Project, but I'm curious how an e-mail could create a task in Project or why you would even want to do that.

  • Another approach that might work - create a rule in Outlook that looks for the email - and assign it as a task.  Then i Project you can import tasks from outlook.
