Custom list with Calendar view not showing all day events RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I've created a Custom List with a calendar view.

    The Custom List has a date only column named EventDate.

    The view is based on calculated date fields, calculating the StartTime and EndTime from EventDate.

    For example:

    If you enter 20/01/2012 in the EventDate column.

    StartTime : 20/01/2012 12:00AM

    EndTime : 20/01/2012 11:59PM

    This way I want to try to force an all day event look in the month view of the calendar.

    But it won't work though.

    How can I force the all day event look (with a border and no time in the description)?

    You can add control code for checking it is all day event or not on itemadded and itemupdated events.

    In these events, 

    If StartTime ==  20/01/2012 12:00AM AND EndTime == 20/01/2012 11:59PM

    set calendarItem as All Day Event.

    Thanks for your feedback, though it is not what I was looking for.

    I have a custom list with a calendar view, which does not inherit the Event Type.

    In other words, my custom list does not contain the All Day Event field.

    And I want to have it shown like an All Day Event, and not actually set it to an all day event.

    I would like to get this done, without the need of SPD.

  • I would also like to know if there is an answer for this question. I'm trying to display items from a list in a "calendar view", but when the mode is switched to "Weekly View", each item is stacked side by side at 12AM instead of on top of each other as if it were an all day event.
