Central Admin Ribbon RRS feed

  • Question

  • On our non-production environment we have begun to experience an issue with the Central Admin ribbons.  While they display correctly they are greyed out even after a selection is made on a service or web application.

Utilizing the debugger in IE there are errors of 'Sys' is undefined, 'type' is undefined, etc for the javascript files such as sp.init.js and sp.ui.dialog.js.  Has anyone experienced similar in the past, and if so what was the resolution?

  • Hi,

Did you try opening the SharePoint Central Administration using "Run As Administrator" option ?

  • Hi,

Additionally, you can check if your JS has been loaded by Network in IE.

If the JS load failed, find the JS file in the corresponding path in IIS.
If there is no this JS file, you can download it online.

    Thanks,
    Carl Zhou

  • It appears that the JS files are loading, but the issue appears to be with the /ScriptResource.axd and /WebResource.axd which are reporting a 404 error.

  • Hi,

As Priyan mentioned, you must run the Center Administration as Administrator.

Please make sure the account that you used is the administrator, and check if it works fine.

    Best Regards,

    Carl Zhou
