FIM- Changing Datasource of Oracle. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

Our FIM admin will be changing the datasource name and table view. I've to update the same change in FIM MA and Oracle client on FIM sync server, is there any other location besides these?

  • Nikhil,

Is the new DB exactly the same, same schema? If yes, all you have to do is update the MA Settings and refresh the Schema (A full import and a full sync will follow). If not, then you need to investigate what has changed.

No need to change this ".sms file on fim sync server under deployment\bin\service."

  • If it is about Oracle DB, you even don't need to change FIM MA.

Only connected Oracle MA should be updated (if you have more than one, then it would be "every Oracle MA should be updated")

  • Provided nothing is added or removed (only renamed) from the previous schema, then you don't need to touch FIM MA, but if you have new attributes added into the new Schema or old ones removed, you will need to update FIM MA accordingly.

  • Thank you for answering.

Sorry the question was not phrased correctly.

this is about Oracle Db and our oracle DB has created a new oracle data source and a TNS entry

To add, I found a .sms file on fim sync server under deployment\bin\service which has the reference of old oracle datasource, I'm sure this must be change, are there any additional files?
