AD RMS working with subdomains RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm planning the installation of an AD RMS infrastructure, but I need to understand if it works with subdomains, like this:

My company has a domain contoso.com and has two subdomains a.contoso.com and b.contoso.com.

So, If I install AD RMS root server (just this server) in contoso.com domain, all clients in contoso.com, a.contoso.com and b.contoso.com can use the Rights Management Service?

    Thanks for your help.

    Best regards.

  • Hi,

as long contoso.com, a.contoso.com and b.constoso.com are part of the same Active Directory forest it will work.

contoso.com is a good place for your RMS server.

Hi, thanks for your answer. And, If the AD RMS server is installed in a.contoso.com, will the service be available in contoso.com and b.contoso.com?

    Thanks.
