  • Hi,

       In my opinion it should work they way default Description field on on Project Information page works but you don't have any control over it.

  • HI Milan,

    As you know that Text custom fields can be multiline up to 4000 bytes, for use in project detail pages (PDPs) and with workflows for demand management in Project Web App. There is no out of box option available which can fix the number of lines.

    As a desgin of the page, It contains a table (width 100% ) a Td width 100%, & multiline text box which be default is 75%, if you put more characters it expands uptill 100% & goes to next line. This is as designed in out  of box PDP pages.

    1. If you have customized PDP page using Visual Studio, You can do the fix text box width.
    2. You can write a jquery & edit the PDP page with content editor webpart to find the text area name & class (e.g ms-rtestate-field ms-rtefield ms-rtestate-write) & fix the width. For more info:

    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks Amir,

    I tried it but I don't know how to do it. In my PDP page when I'll try to do it, I can't. Textarea is in default invisible and text is writen into some DIV. After text changes something take it into invisible textarea...

    <textarea name="ctl00$m$g_477d6b94_a214_4236_b480_05d7b6f3a553$ctl00$pfp_Repeater$ctl01$idCF_e2d1dfe6-c6c8-4bae-bc23-dbd0055f05a9" title="wdfdasf" disabled="" class="ms-input" id="ctl00_m_g_477d6b94_a214_4236_b480_05d7b6f3a553_ctl00_pfp_Repeater_ctl01_idCF_e2d1dfe6-c6c8-4bae-bc23-dbd0055f05a9" style="display: none;" GUID="e2d1dfe6-c6c8-4bae-bc23-dbd0055f05a9" rteID="ctl00_m_g_477d6b94_a214_4236_b480_05d7b6f3a553_ctl00_pfp_Repeater_ctl01_idCF_e2d1dfe6-c6c8-4bae-bc23-dbd0055f05a9_div"/>

    <div disabled="" class="ms-rtestate-field ms-rtefield" id="ctl00_m_g_477d6b94_a214_4236_b480_05d7b6f3a553_ctl00_pfp_Repeater_ctl01_idCF_e2d1dfe6-c6c8-4bae-bc23-dbd0055f05a9_div" style="width: 75%; min-height: 84px;" InputFieldId="ctl00_m_g_477d6b94_a214_4236_b480_05d7b6f3a553_ctl00_pfp_Repeater_ctl01_idCF_e2d1dfe6-c6c8-4bae-bc23-dbd0055f05a9"/>

    Second question is if is possible to rename names of default fields. Concretely Name and Owner???

    Thanks George
