  • Question

  • Hi there,

My company using thousands of excel fiiles to keep product info and other stuff. So every excel has a few worksheets on them.

I am seeking a way to keep excels untouched and use them as a data source. So there will be a form to input data and retrieve it s well.

Is this doable with Sharepoint or should I use SQL for this.

    Thank you for your information.

    thanx in advance

  • You shouldn't use SharePoint imo.

SharePoint is good as a place to move (as SharePoint lists) Excel files to so that they can be accessed via a browser. (and then delete the Excel files)

It is not particularly good as a storage location (in document libraries) for Excel Files because often these have relationships with other excel files which won't necessarily work when the excel files are stored in doc libs.
