https sharepoint 2007 site created on windows 2008 is not available on the sharepoint server itself RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

We have two windows servers 2008, one with sql server 2008r2 installed used as database server for sharepoint 2007 with sp2. I installed a default sharepoint 2007 with sp2 using the other sql server 2008 as its database server. As a test, I created mysite, ssp site and one https site (default team site). To top things up, I also properly installed a commercial ssl certificate for this https site. Carefully checked DNS, alternate access mapping, etc. For some very strange reason I cannot access this https site on the sharepoint server itself even though I can access it from another workstation or server with no problems. On the server, it always asks for credentials and putting in the sharepoint admin credential does not work at all. On the server, none https sites seem accessible. All workstations and servers are in one domain. Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

    George.
