Block mail from non existent domains RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are using Exchange 2016 edge transport server, before we were using Edge 2010 with Forefront Protection For Exchange.
FPE had an option to block mails from non-existent domains. Is this option available in Exchange 2016 Edge?

    Kind regards,
    Hans Mannaerts

  • Hi,

this article is about recipient. We want to check if the senders mail domain is valid.
For example if someone is sending as user@hahaha.be to us we want to block it because hahaha.be does not exist.

    Kind regards,
    Hans Mannaerts

  • Hi Hans,

There is no such option in antispam agents on Exchange 2016 Edge.

By default, build-in antispam functionality on exchange servers only have the following agents to provide some basic filtering:

    • Content Filter agent
    • Sender Filter agent

    • Sender ID agent

    • Protocol Analysis agent for sender reputation

If you want more advance features, I recommend you consider deploying EOP( Exchange Online Protection ), it will provide more control and stronger filtering than build-in antispam agents.

    Best Regards,
