Have to change the IBCM certificate, is there a proper process and what are the potential problems with this? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The IBCM was originally configured with an SHA1 certificate and now that SHA1 is being deprecated we need to change that certificate. As well there has been an internal rebranding going on the company name has changed and that needs to be updated. There are over 1,000 internet based hosts that vary widely in how often they actually connect through the IBCM to pickup updates and report status.

I can find a lot of documentation about setting up the IBCM but not anything about updating this certificate and do not have a lot of experience with certificate replacement and update through SCCM. Can anyone supply a link to a good resource on the ins and outs of performing this action?

I assume you could change the certificate in your IIS as per the given instruction for a SHA-2 Cert and similarly generate one for the clients and have it available or deploy for all, obviously you need to check it for the work-ability.
