Enable-remotemailbox and AAD account RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

In an Exchange Hybrid configuration (EOL and Exchange on-prem), when running the 'enable-remotemailbox' cmdlet against the on-prem Exchange server, must the associated Azure AD account already exist in Azure?

Or can we do this instead:

    1. Create the AD account on-prem

    2. Execute the 'enable-remotemailbox' cmdlet on Exchange on-prem server

    3. THEN sync the user to Azure via AADConnect - which will do both create the AAD account and the EOL mailbox?

    Thank you,

    SK

Answers

  • It is not necessary to sync the user to Azure before executing enable-remotemailbox cmdlet on Exchange on-premises Organization.

    Thanks.
