    I have had a problem opening Word 2010.  I have a new insattlation of Windows 7; Ofice Home 2010; Outlook 2010.  All work fine except for Word. "Mocrosoft word has stpopped working".  I installed ; re-installed etc.  

    I Have been blocked from using "winword/safe" with response that Windows cannot find it.

    I have done the regedit solutions suggested by Microsoft. normal.DOTM solution has not helped.

    Nothing works (so far). Cannot open Word docs from 2003, 2007 etc.

    Please use this command to see if the issue is caused by an incompatible Add-In:

    winword /a

    What about the other steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541? Are there any entries below the mentioned Addins keys in the registry?

    I'd recommend to make a virus scan to make sure the system is clean.

    Run

    sfc /scannow

    to check the integrity of all operating system files.
