OnDemand Package net3.5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi i have enable in MDT 2013U2 the installation of .Net3.5 The Package are in the deploymentshare folder, Packages.

    I've followed that https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/mniehaus/2015/09/02/adding-net-framework-to-windows-10-using-mdt-2013-update-1/

When deploying W10 it's good and everything works fine, but when i deploy W7 it failed cause that package is not intended for W7...i was assuming that MDT would skip that section?

Is there a way to skip that section for W7 but not W10 or is there any other way i could correct that error?

    Thanks

  • Yeah, it's not hard at all. Just set your package group and separate the patches/hotfixes you intend to deploy into folders for the OS you are deploying. See picture below.

  • I find it cleaner to use different deployment shares for different OSes.  Assuming you are using different task sequences for different OSes,  you can disable the Apply Patches task under Preinstall in your Windows 7 task sequence.  This will skip the installation of ANYTHING in the packages folder.

  • Total control for packages ;)

Logs are very important. https://keithga.wordpress.com/2014/10/24/video-mdt-2013-log-files-basics-bdd-log-and-smsts-log/ Mention any customizations you have made.
