Win10 VM - has the Internet access while the VM host is on WiFi, no Internet while the VM host uses LTE modem. RRS feed

  • Hello, Forum.

I have an issue that occurs on my Windows 10 Professional workstation which is a virtual machine. To run my Windows I start my VMWare client and run the Windows guest. The host is a Linux station (xubuntu in my case) - which I guess is irrelevant.

And now when I am home and use my home WiFi on the host or share my hotspot on the phone, Windows guest instantly has the Internet access. Whilst when I use my laptop's buil-in LTE modem on the host and start Windows on the VM guest, Windows does not have the Internet access.

It used to work properly on the beginning but I discovered today that the LTE Internet access - even though on the host runs properly - on the guest does not. I think it may have something to do with the Windows Defender or the type of network - but I am not the Windows geek (prefer Linux) and that is why I am turning to you, Dear Forum.
