Duplicate Attachements when Sending from Office Apps RRS feed

  • Question

  • Another odd issue that I can't seem to find any info for and thsi may be the wrong forum...

We are still in our migration to Exchange 2010. Users that have been migrated are experiencing an odd issue. When using Office applications and doing a Send Using Email - Send as Attachment from the office app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) the message that is sent has the file attached twice. When you look at the email that is created by clicking Send Using Email - Send as Attachment, the attachement only appears once but when the message is received on the other end the attachment is duplicated. It also shows duplicates in the Sent Items folder. This is happening in both Office 2007 and Office 2010.  Users's whose mailboxs are still on Exchange 2007 do not experience this issue.  Saving the document and attaching it the "normal" way does not create a duplicate.

The only solution that we've come up with is to recreate the user's mail profile. This solution sucks to say the least. We would like to have this fixed for all users without creating new profiles.

    Any ideas?

  • So, all the mailboxes will have this issue permanently after moved to exchange 2010, right?

Please perform an outlook profile repair on the problematic outlook, and then check the issue again

  • Thanks for your response.  I've run the scanppst.exe repair tool on the OST files and the issue remains.  If you are referring to a different procedure when saying "outlook profile repair" please let me know.

    Thanks for your assistance.

  • This issue was resolved when we installed the re-releaseed Rollup 3 for Exchange 2010 SP1.
