  • Question

  • Hello Community

In WSS 3.0 "Document Library" there is a Dropdownlist option named "View: All Documents".
Within that Dropdownlist there is an option named "Create View".

How can I remove, hide or delete this Dropdownlist from the document library?

        or either

How can I remove, hide or delete the "Create View" option inside of the Dropdownlist?

        Thank you

  • Hi Shabeaut,

You can achieve this by SharePoint Designer. Open the page in SPD, right-click on the ListViewWebPart and choose Convert to XSLT Data View. Now you can click View: All Documents and delete it directly.

Also you can achieve this by permission management. Create a new permission level without Manage Lists permission, and then grant the users with this new permission level, so they won’t have permission to Create View.
(Note: must ensure the users don’t have permissions higher than the new permission level in this site, or it will follow the higher ones.)

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

    Follow these steps:

    1. Open the site in SPD.

    2. navigate down to the document library and then the page you want to modify for example:- allitems.aspx

    3. Right click on this and do check out.

    4. in the split mode right click on the doc lib webpart.

    5. Convert it to xslt data view.

    6. Select the view drop down area in the [review part and in the corresponding code section add Visible = false.

I hope this will help you out
