Hi,
I am using DPM 2010 as a backup solution in my organization. I am using storage (disk) for short term backup and tape library (tape) for long term backup.
I have many protection groups and recycling the tapes (21) and disks for backup in different schedules.
I dont have any schedules on saturday.
my concern is, if i want to take complete data backup on saturday on new tapes, can i follow the step????????
1. remove all the already existing tape without changin the slot number.
2. Insert new tape and start create recovery points of all protection group (data)
3. remove the tapes once backup completed.
4. Insert the existing tape which start and recyle the tapes as ususa.
Is it ok & will it work???? ( i can take it as offsite and whenever it is required i can restore it)
