SCCM 2012 R2 Secondary Site SQL Version RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

    Hierarchy would be :

1 Primary and 2 Secondary. Total client 10000

We will have about 3000 clients reporting to 2 separate Secondary site ( 3000 per Secondary Site ).

Which version of SQL should I use... Express or Std ( SQL 2012 ). I have heard in one of the presentations from TechED that SQL Std which come with SCCM 2012 pack does not impose additional License cost if we install that on Secondary. Is that true..?

Also, What advantages will I get to install SQL Std edition on Secondary server over Express Edition and what all data is there in SQL database at secondary server ( I mean on what basis we can determine its database size )

I know SQL Express has a limitation of 4GB and 10GB.

Thanks for your suggestions and information in this regard.

    Sam
