App-V 5 beta 2 client Setup Failed

Question
-
Hello,
I'm getting "Setup failed while installing the MSIs. Asia" - when trying to install the App-V client 5 beta 2 preview. Have successfully installed on another PC.
Not sure where this "asia" comment is coming from I'm based in the UK and have no asian locales etc set.
Any clues?
Thanks Terry

App-V 5 beta bugs are best reported on Connect.
A fix for this issue will be available in the next public build: https://connect.microsoft.com/MDOPTAP/feedback/details/754749/setup-failed-while-installing-the-msis-asia. You can work around this by removing the VC runtimes and letting the App-V client installer install the required version.

Hi Aaron
Thanks for the tip, alas the link is not working for me? I have looked through the connect feedback and cannot find the issue either.
Thanks
Terry

I presume you've sign up for Connect and signed in? I can read that thread only once I've signed into Connect.
In my scenario I had several versions of VC++ 2005, 2008 and 2010. I think the clash was with 2008; however I removed all version of VC++ and the install then worked. There were no other changes.
The App-V client will write an install log to the %TEMP% folder (or even \Windows\Temp), that should include more information about the issue on your machine.
If that's not working for you, then you would be best logging this issue on connect so that Microsoft can take a look, because my bug has been closed as Resolved.
