Windows 7 Home Premium slow downloads RRS feed

    Download speed on my new Windows 7 Home Premium computer is 4 times slower than my other computer on the same home wireless network.  How do I fix this?  Web pages load very very slowly.  Windows Firewall is on.   I run AVG Free which does not have a firewall.

    The first place is with your hardware, is it all win 7 gear or is it older gear?

    If it is supported have you applied the lastest firmware / drivers??

    Hi Vail,

     

    Besides updating the router firmware and network card driver, I also would like to suggest you update the BIOS and the motherboard drivers.

     

    After that, you may test the issue in Safe Mode with Networking and Clean Boot.
