  • Hi,

Can you access any page with PWA, for example http://projects/pwa/_layouts/pwa/admin/admin.aspx ? Did the PWA site provision successfully? Are you attempting to log on with the PWA administrator account?

    Thanks

    Paul

  • No it gives the same error two exception and one unexpected.

Yes it said it was successfully provisioned and the current status is Provisioned. Thinking it could be issue with provisioning I deleted and recreated and still have the same issue. I am not a SharePoint person so I am not sure if I should be seeing the PWA virtual directory under SharePoint-80 Site because in IIS I don't see any PWA virtual directory however I see PWA under _layouts.

Yes I am using the PWA administrator's account for accessing the site.

  • Hi,

You wont see PWA as a virtual directory below the SP 80 site. How did you provision the site, did you create blank PWA databases with the site creation or did you link to previously restored PWA databases? Can you test creating a new Test PWA site, new Project Web App path on the port 80 web app.

    Thanks

    Paul

  • Yes this is a fresh Install I created a new Content Database for Projects and added the Project web app site to this database.

While creating Project Web App Site I let it create the Database, as we don't have any previous Database.

  • Hi,

A quick Bing of some of your error messages above yielded this thread http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/projserv2010setup/thread/07eaf002-0692-4611-9842-69774bd32309. The thread mentions:

" It had to do with the default Project services that was being applied to the PWA site. A simple answer in the end but it took forever to get there."

Now I am not sure if this is Service Applications available on the farm, or services enabled specifically, but worth checking your installation against these just in case. Otherwise, if may be a support ticket with MS.

Hope this is of some use.

  • Hiya,

Try to remove and recreate your PWA site.

Often your better of recreating your site, rather than trying to figure out a problem preventing it from running.

  • I tried that already and it didn't help. It said it Provisioned sucessfully but still the same error.

  • Hi Ali,

Is this mutiserver environmet if yes.

Then it has been seen in many case when you install binaries on application server and soon after that if you run the configuration wizard without installing binaries on other Appn or Web servers so you may face this issue,

So always first install binaries on all appn and web server in the farm then run the configuration wizard on each server starting from Appn server to web server.

    hope this may help you.

  • Hi  Ali,

Please could you tell us a bit more about the farm, number of servers, where the Project Application Service is running (all servers etc), number of service accounts etc, cumulative updates applied etc.

Agree with Alex, this might need a support call with MS as someone may need to connect to your environment and take a look.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ali,

Can you try to creating pwa site with some other name. I observed that sometime some failed site name stuck with in somewhere in SharePoint DB. If you still get the same issue with new pwa site name then it must be binaries.

    Adil

  • Microsoft Support found issue PWA was not created under the default service application.  The issue was fixed by configuring service application association and making it default in Application proxy group
