Pull Distribution point - over LAN RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I was trying to achieve Pulling DP content via LAN.

    Current Scenario,

I have DP1 - Primary DP with around 150 packages, approximately 130GB of data.
DP2, DP3... DP10, another 9 DP which are supposed to be deployed in remote location. Since all these DP hardware are newly purchased all the DP are right now present in main location where DP1 (primary) is located.

Since all the 9 remote DP will be shipped to remote location where bandwidth is quite slow, i was wondering if i can configure remote DPs in main location as pull dp and source as Primary DP1.

My concern is, provided DP1 and all other DP fall in same subnet/network - will the pulling of content happen over Lan?

Apart from Pull concept, is there any complete DP prestaging or something for data replication?.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Yes, the content will be pulled over the LAN. Why wouldn't it?

You can use content pre-staging easily from the console also by multi-selecting all of your content and creating the pre-staging package or you can use PowerShell to do it.
