SteadyState Remote To From Internet RRS feed

  • Question

  •   We have a unit that, in testing, we have locked down with SteadyState and given a real world IP.  When we access the unit from another location over the internet using Remote Desktop Connection our problems in testing are:

    1) The "Welcome Screen" disappears, you get the "Log On To Windows" box  where you type in the Username and Password and

    2) after logging in, the desktop wallpaper is gone even with user set to no restrictions we cannot change the wallpaper.

    Any ideas?

Any and all help is always Greatly Appreciated.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Histech,

These issues should be by design behavior of Remote Desktop Connection. Everything will be OK if you log on to the system locally.

To enable wallpaper through Remote Desktop Connection, you can try the following steps:

    ------------------

    1. Start Remote Desktop Connection.

    2. Click Options -> Experience tab. Select the check box before “Desktop background”.

    3. Click Connect.

Note: Enable this may slow down the connection performance as more data will be transferred.
