SFC not working after power outage RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had a power outage, and my HP windows 8 Desktop didn't boot, so I went back to a backup from earlier this month. (Not sure if backup is the specific word Im looking for, sorry for my English and computer vocabulary) The problem is that now I have no audio, half the links in controll pannel dont work, (100% non responsive) and I cant unninstall any programs. I have tried fixing it with SFC but SFC also doesn't work. (btw It doesnt wok in safe mode either.)

  • sfc /scannow gives me this:
"Resource protection could not start the repair service"

    and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /scanhealth gives me this:

Deployment image servicing and management tool
    version: 6.3.9600.1703

    Image version: 6.3.9600.1703

    Error: 87

    The cleanup-image option is unknown.

For more information, reder to the help by running DISM.exe /?.

The DISM log file can be found at c:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log
