  • Hello
    Experts,<o:p></o:p>

    I want to

teams can do all testing before making any changes into Prod AD<o:p></o:p>

    I am able
to export all AD users and OU data into LDF file using ldifde command but when I
try to import it into test Dc I am not able to Import same, getting below error<o:p></o:p>

    C:\Documents
    and Settings\misadmin>ldifde -i -f ExportOU.ldf -s Rootdc01<o:p></o:p>

    Connecting
    to "Rootdc01"<o:p></o:p>

    Logging in
    as current user using SSPI<o:p></o:p>

    Importing
    directory from file "ExportOU.ldf"<o:p></o:p>

    Loading
    entries.<o:p></o:p>

    Add error
    on line 2: Already Exists<o:p></o:p>

    The server
side error is "An attempt was made to add an object to the directory<o:p></o:p>

    with a name
    that is already in use."<o:p></o:p>

    0 entries
    modified successfully.<o:p></o:p>

    An error
    has occurred in the program<o:p></o:p>

    No log
files were written. In order to generate a log file, please<o:p></o:p>

    specify the
log file path via the -j option.<o:p></o:p>

  • There is a -k option on the import that will ignore "object already exists" errors.

Also, here's a newer KB article that has a good set of examples: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555636

    Hope this helps.
