Assigning Shortcut Keys to Wireless Keyboard 3000 - Standby & Eject RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just bought a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 for my HP Slimline Desktop (s3200n) with Vista Home Premium (32bit).

My old wired keyboard had two keys that I really liked, one that would put the computer into standby/sleep and another to eject/close the dvd/cd tray. Is there any way to do this with the new 3000 keyboard?

I know you can do hot keys, but I like the functionality of a one touch key.  Ive found some programs that I can download and make a shortcut then assign that to any key, but hoping there might be an easier method.

    Thanks in Advance!
