sql sleeping process cputime monitoring for scom. RRS feed

    Please tell me is it possible to monitor the sleeping process cpu Time from scom.When we run sp_who2 query on sql we are able to see the process which are running there and there cpu time in this process we can see some sleeping  process.I want to monitor the sleeping process processor time.So please tell me is this possible to monitor this from scom.Alert will come if it exceed the threshold cpu time 15000.

  • It is possible, first off.  You would have to write a managemnt pack that includes the rule that runs a script to log into SQL and then run your query, putting interesting data into property bags, and then adding a condition detection module to filter on your looked for condition.

    This will require direct MP xml editing, and good knowledge of scripting to connect to SQL and run queries.  There are good examples to learn from (not necessarily SQL) on the authormps.com site
