autodiscover returns CN instead of netbions name, when connecting with Outlook 2010 to Exchange 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We're deploying a new image with Outlook 2010, that currently needs to connect to an exchange 2003 server.
(migration to Exchange 2010 will happen in some months)

To get autodiscover working, we implemented hotfix KB2281463

The hotfix is partially working, since the autodiscovery seems to work, but at the end, a popup appears with the exchange servername.

Unfortunately it isn't formatted correctly, and instead of "servername", it shows "CN=...servername"
When we remove everyhing except for the servername, we can continue

Does anyone know how to fix that the servername is shown, instead of the CN of the server?

That all happens on the Outlook client, not the Exchange server. You
should be asking this question in the Outlook forum.

  • Exchange 2003 doesn't support Autodiscover.
