SCOM and SQL MP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using the latest SQL Server management pack available and becoming increasingly annoyed and how -not- intuitive this goddamn management pack is.  Do I now have the luxury of bouncing from server to server, adding this user in ten different instances or is there a way to make it pull down group settings fromActive Directory? It seems as though if my service account (example) is a member of a group that is an administrator across several severs and SQL instances, that SCOM doesn't know how to pull down group settings prior to scanning and, because of this, I'm receiving errors that state the run-on account does not exist on the target server. This is half false, because this account is a member of a global admin group that is a server admin on the machine and a sysadmin in the SQL instnace. So why are these accounts failing to log in?
