Do manufacturers still sell products with POS Ready 2009? I was informed that my POS cash desks were going to come preinstalled PosReady7 MSR. But other that it came with POS Ready 2009 is that normal?Thursday, March 26, 2020 7:56 AM

POS Ready 2009 has gone EOL - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search?alpha=Windows%20Embedded%20POSReady%202009
OEMs are not permitted to ship POS Ready 2009 anymore. You may sill find some devices still in the supply chain, but those will be the last available.
POSReady 7 will be available for a another year before it goes EOL - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search?alpha=Windows%20Embedded%20POSReady%207
Eventually, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC will be the version used for POS systems.

No, they are not correct. There is a big difference between the two. POSReady 2009 is based on Windows XP Embedded and POSReady7 is based on Windows 7.
Your supplier doesn't know what they are talking about.

Thank you this is the one I had bought a year ago. Thank you very much.
I have just checked the system and seen its not the one I have ordered. I think my supplier has checked the wrong box when ordering.
I was expecting 128gb of disk and I got 64gb. I was expecting PosReady7 MSR and I got POS Ready 2009. My supplier tells me there is no difference between both operation systems? Can that be correct?

Thank you very much. So you would suggest me to ask for the POSReady7 since it is the version I have paid for?Tuesday, April 14, 2020 12:05 PM

I would ask for POSReady7. I wouldn't use POSready 2009 at this point.
