is there a log detailing who created groups or granted users full control to a site? RRS feed

  • Question

  • User called today. She is site admin, and discovered that "someone" had created new groups and added new people to her site without her permission.

She is asking if there is a way to determine who created these things.

I have asked the small number of people who have spsadmin type accounts, and they all have said they did not give out full  control to anyone on this site.

However, when I look at the site, there are definitely people listed who have full control.

Is there any way to determine who added these people?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

user activities can be tracked through IIS but in your case I would suggest that go to site collection settings and then select Site collection audit settings. Here you select the option of user and permissions it will then provide you audit log data for any change in this category.

I hope this will help you out.
