  • Question

  • We are having an issue with our workstations that use Office PRO PLUS 2010 32BIT on Windows 7 64BIT that appears to have started about a few weeks ago where users cannot search for templates in any office product saying that the application is unable to connect to "Office.com".

Our users are getting errors only on these computers not the 32bit win7 or 64bit win 10 or any other flavor of office.

packet capture shows no try at all to reach out to office.com.

We've tested this on multiple workstations "more than 15" and on multiple networks (3) internal and including those outside our enterprise. Something in the program is not letting the program complete the call.

might be trust or security. all patches applied and AV is Microsoft security Essentials.

  • Hi Mike,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Recently, we also received some feedback about the similar issue that users cannot search for Online Templates in Office 2010. We are pending research on the issue.

In your scenario, please collect the detailed Office 2010 version build number (File > Help > About Word) and when the issue started, any updates installed before the issue occurred. Sorry for any inconvenience currently.

    Best Regards,
    Winnie Liang

  • Hi Mike,

I tested in Office 2010 today. It seems that the Office.com template can be loaded normally now. How about the issue on your side?

Please check it and let us know if you need any further help :)

    Best Regards,
