Disabling 64-bit block cipher (3DES / DES / RC2 / IDEA) and IE11 compatibility RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
Reports on ssllabs.com identify our servers are vulnerable to Sweet32, as they use 64-bit block cipher (3DES / DES / RC2 / IDEA) with modern protocols. Our host identifies we can force a stronger cipher, but that would make the service unavailable within Internet Explorer 11.

Is it true that by updating the SSL settings to current standards will lead to excluding Internet Explorer 11? Or can we mitigate Sweet32 whilst keeping support for Internet Explorer 11?

    Thanks!
    Allard
