lync.exe causing AD accoult lockouts (Skype Online + Exchange 2016 OnPrem) RRS feed

  • Hi,
    We have a customer that is using Skype Online (no password sync or ADFS configured for Azure AD, so they are using a seperate password for Skype Online)

    We notice that the AD accounts of the users get locked out continously.
    What we see from the logs is that the lync.exe clients is the cause of the lockout.

    The problem seems to occur because of integration between the Skype4B client and Exchange.

    We already configured OAuth between Ex2016 and Skype online.
    The lockouts however keep occuring.

    Possibly the Skype4B client passes its UPN + password (seperate Azure AD password) to Exchange, causing a bad password.

    We also removed all cached credentials for Skype + resetted the Skype4b profile from the pc without success.

    Is there a known issue, or can someone explain why this is occuring?

    Agree with KHart85.

    Did this issue only appear on the specific user? If the issue only appeared on the specific user, please try to compare user attributes between affected user and other normal users.

    If all users had this issue, may be it is caused by the integration between the SFB online and exchange server, please refer to the following document to check the integration
