Microsoft System Attendant error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am in the process of migrating an Exchange 2007 server to Exchange 2013.  I`ve installed Exchange 2013 and all of the latest updates on a Windows 2012 server.  Within the EAC if I go to Organization>Apps or Recipients>Resources I receive the same error message saying Cannot open mailbox /o=/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=/cn=Microsoft System Attendant.

The error message is saying it cannot open the Microsoft System Attendant mailbox on the Exchange 2007 server.  Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue.

    Thanks

  • run the following powershell command:

    get-mailboxdatabase -status | fl name,mounted

See if you have any dismouted DBs.  If so, mount the DB with false.  Try opening again within the EAC

  • I ran the command and all of the databases are mounted already.

  • Yes, I saw that article yesterday when I was trying to fix the issue.  Below is the text copied from the powershell window of the 5 correct arbitration mailboxes and I have enabled the Migration mailbox using the powershell command from the link you sent.  I have rebooted both the Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013 server with no luck.

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>get-mailbox -arbitration | ft name, alias

  • Hi,

Based on your description, you can't edit the option: Organization>Apps or Recipients>Resources in EAC.

Please check Homemdb attribute on Microsoft System Attendant on Exchange 2013. Make sure the value of this attribute points to right database.

Please using the Get-Mailbox -RecipientTypeDetails RoomMailbox command to get the resource mailbox to check if you can list them.

    Best regards,
