How to display both CallerID Name and Number on CX500 / CX600 polycom Phones

Question

sorry if that has been asked before. But when someone calls from outside, the Polycom CX600 only shows the caller ID Name, but not the caller ID number. How can we change that? The lync client on the computer shows both info
Thanks

Hi, sorry for the delay, Microsoft support confirmed this is a known issue with no ETA yet for resolution but that it was something they are working on

Hi,
is the CX600 connected to the PC using USB? in that case it'll show the caller ID name if it's configured in the Outlook. but if you connect the CX600 via LAN, it'll show you the incoming outside number since it does not know the name.

Actually, for us it does not. The phone either using USB or directly on Ethernet only shows the name of the caller. To make sure and test, I made a skype call to my CX600 and it showed a name and not the number. but it does show both the number and the name on the Lync Client... my boss showed me that even the CX300 does show the number. With the screnn real estate of the CX600 there has to be a way to display both, I would think and hope so
Thanks

Hi,
Please update CX600 to the latest firmware and install the latest update package for Lync phone edition, then restart the devices and have a try again.
If still no luck please try to use Lync logging tool and Wireshark to trace the log and get more information for troubleshooting.

Sharon

Thanks, I will try that. For now I have a ticket with microsoft because our Lync server refuses to update any of the Polycom phones so once that is fixed, I will be able to upgrade the client on the phone.Thursday, November 3, 2011 4:06 PM
