Broken editform.aspx page RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I inadvertently broke my editform.aspx and dispform.aspx. I was able to recreate the dispform.aspx by copying a dispform.aspx from another list, changing the list name and generating a new webpart id. However, the same procedure does not work for the editform.aspx. When I change the list name in the aspx file ( <ListName xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WebPart/v2/ListForm">{F27CA33D-B609-468C-9B29-56AFAFBEDCE6}</ListName>) I receive an error WebPartPagesListFormWebPart - An error has occured.

The same error occurs if I create a new aspx page and insert a list field and set it to edit. It works fine for New and Display.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry meant to say i am using SP 2007

  • 1. Try using "Form Web Parts" --> Default Edit Form.

    2. If that doesn't work, try creating a new EDIT list form using SharePoint Designer/InfoPath
