An error in Dashboard Project Server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I created my first Dashboard in Excel 2010 but when I was asked to refresh its data in PWA, I got the error:

"An error occurred during the attempt to access the application ID ProjectServerApplication from the Secure Store. Failure of the refreshing of the following connections: Project Server – Project Assignment data".

What could be the cause of that error?

    Thanks

  • Hi WLID1966, you need to configure the secure store service from the central administration to access reports you create using BI. the Secure Store Service enables users to access multiple system resources without having to provide authentication credentials more than once.

Please browse this techNet article, and look for the SECURE STORE SERVICE section to do the configuration. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee662106.aspx#section3

Also look the Brian's post about the BI most common errors to help understand more the reason you came across this. His post includes your error: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/brismith/archive/2010/09/16/project-server-2010-business-intelligence-center-common-errors.aspx

    Hope this helps.
