Step by Step on what to do before the tutorial on enabling document versioning in SharePoint WorkSpace 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Forgive me as I'm real newbie to SharePoint Workspace 2010.  I want to enable document versioning and have found the online tutorial here: http://www.sharepointhosting.com/tutorials/enable-sharepoint-document-versioning/enable-sharepoint-document-versioning.html

My question is how do I get to the screen the tutorial starts with?  All I know how to do (in the 3 hours I've had the program) is click the LaunchBar and I've uploaded a few documents into the Root Folder and edited one.

    Thank you!!

  • EDIT; Workspace 2010 will only work with SharePoint 2010, which is off topic for this forum.  I´ll leave my original response here as I misunderstood the question, but this will probably be moved to the SP2010 forums

This tutorial starts at what is know as a site.  Sites can come in site collections.  If you imagine a net work drive with a folder structure, you can sort of think of a site collection similar to that, its possible for more than ONE site to exist within a collection but they all come from the same root parent.

You say that you´re uploading documents, this is done within a document library.  As this tutorial shows, you´ll have a ´Documents´ category within the Quick Launch bar to the left, and it´s from here that you can access a document library and apply the settings shown in this video.

If you can´t find the menu to follow through the tutorial it means that you probably don´t have permission to edit it yet.

    Hope that helps
