How to set default page for all users in SharePoint Online?

    Question

  • I would like to create a branded Intranet in SharePolint Online and have all my Office 365 users directed to that Intranet's homepage when they click on the "SharePoint" button in Office 365.

    How can I do this? Any ideas?

  • Hi Joao Beltrao,

    Did you want to change the url of the SharePoint logon in the SharePoint page?

    If you did, you could edit master page of the SharePoint online site in SharePoint designer.

    You could follow the steps below:

    1. Open SharePoint online site in SharePoint designer.

    2. click master page, find the master page you are using in SharePoint online site.

    3. click and edit the .html page of the master page.

    4. replace the SPSimpleSiteLink control to SPLinkButton control, you could modify the NavigateUrl in the SPLinkButton control.

    Replace

    <!--MS:<SharePoint:SPSimpleSiteLink CssClass="ms-siteicon-a" runat="server" id="onetidProjectPropertyTitleGraphic">-->

    ...

    <!--ME:</SharePoint:SPSimpleSiteLink>-->

    To

    <!--MS:<SharePoint:SPLinkButton runat="server" NavigateUrl="~sitecollection/" id="onetidProjectPropertyTitleGraphic">-->

    …

      <!--ME:</SharePoint:SPLinkButton>-->

  • Thank you for your suggestion.

    But I'm looking for something that works in SharePoint Online that does not involve a Master Page.

    Because we must ensure all future changes that Microsoft makes to Office 365 work well in SharePoint Online, we will not be creating a custom Master Page.

  • Hi Joao Beltrao

    If you do not want to involve the master page in SharePoint online, you could add the JavaScript code in content editor web part in every page which has the SharePoint logo.

    There is a demo to change the SharePoint logo link in the page.

    <script src="https://o365e3w15.sharepoint.com/sites/patrick/SiteAssets/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
     <script type="text/javascript">
     $(document).ready(function(){
     $("#ctl00_onetidProjectPropertyTitleGraphic").attr("href","http://www.baidu.com");
     });
     </script>
