  • Question

  • I need to setup to be read only when someone else is editing public files in outlook.  How do I do this?

  • Go to the public folder and add the users to the PF permission and grant then appropiate rights.  If you mean if both are allowed to edit file and you want one to have read only access while the other is editing, then this isnt possible, you will have a conflict message.

No idea what version of Exch youre using but permisisons are similar, E.g 2010 below/

  • If you want a file to be read only while someone else is working on it, then Outlook/Exchange can't do that. It has no check in/check out capability. You would need to use something like Sharepoint for that.

  • Hi
As far as I know, public folder doesn’t support file management function. It is only convenient for users to share email.
