DirSync error after re-configure RRS feed

  • Had an odd issue where our DirSync stopped working and we received an unhealthy sync e-mail.  I couldn't determine what went wrong, so I ran through the configuration tool and specified the same creds for sync'ing and then synchronization resumed.  Since then, there is one object that was previously sync'd that now reports it can't sync because another object with the same SMTP address exists.

    However, I have logged into EOP and deleted the object and tried re-syncing to no avail.  I have also created a query in our local Active Directory to search for either of the SMTP addresses to confirm that it is not affiliated with another object.  Again, the odd part is that this very object was synchronized without issue prior to having to reconfigure the DirSync tool.  Please see the following error:

    Unable to update this
    object because the following attributes associated with this object have values
    that may already be associated with another object in your local directory
    services: [Mail Coordinator@contsoso.com;].
    Correct or remove the duplicate values in your local directory.
