Avaya Merlin Magix PBX and Lync RRS feed

  • How would I go about connecting my Lync 2010 server to a Avaya merlin magix PBC.  Do I need to purchase sometime of media gateway?  Thanks

  • Yes you will need and IP gateway e.g. Dialogic DMG 2000 or Audiocodes MK1 to be configured between your lync and Avaya.
    Avaya Merlin is not supported for Direct SIP etc from MS OIP http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lync/gg131938#tab=2

    You can provision T1QSIG or  CAS trunks from Avaya towards DMG and establish interop.

  • Thanks for the reply.  Are there any less expensive options?  We are only evaluating Lynx at this time and spend a couple grand on a device to connect to the PBX is a hard sell. Also, how would this device connect to the PBX?  The PBX currently has 2 cards in it for connection to PRI lines both of which are in use.  Thanks again
