  • There is a specific Management Pack for Clustering services. Check this Microsoft website for the available Mangement Packs: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/16174.microsoft-management-packs.aspx

Maybe you see other MP's that can be very useful to your environment.

  • I have imported both Windows cluster and SQL MP. But still didn't receive the Alert for failover. Not really sure which event ID it tracks and generate alert. Can you please help me in identifying that.

  • Hi Sir,

Failover means transferring ownership of the resources within a group from one node to another.

Based on my understading , change ownership for resources will take the action mentioned in following article :

Hope it is helpful to you .

    Best Regards,

    Elton

  • There is nothing in the Cluster MP that will alert on Resource Group Failover, just if the resource fails.

You will need to create a custom alert rule based on the the following event IDs in the Microsoft-Windows-FailoverClustering/Operational Event log, Source: ClusSvc

    • Event ID 1200 : trying to bring online a cluster resource
    • Event ID 1201 : the cluster resource is online
    • Event ID 1203 : trying to take offline a cluster resource
    • Event ID 1204 : the cluster resource is offline
