Virtual machine Network adapter driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to create a boot image for a virtual machine where i will load the 1GB Synthetic network adapter from Hyper-V. Where can i download the Network Adapter driver that the virtual machine uses to add it to my image. I need all the files. I can click on Device Manager Network adapters and then proporties on Microsoft Hyper-V Network ADapter and see which files are used, but i'm not sure they are complete. Can you please let me know how to figure this out. Is there any site for downloading Microsoft Drivers. Its called Hyper-V Miniport Driver or Virtual Miniport Driver.

  • What OS do you want to use in your virtual machine?
Windowe Server 2008 R2 and 2012 contain Hyper-V drivers by default, so you don't have to do anything.
Is there any trouble in you environment when you are creating boot image?

  • Compatible drivers are built into the Windows OS.

There are also compatible drivers built into the ADK WinPE image.

You just cannot use them to PXE boot with, as the synthetic driver / NIC does not support PXE.
