App-V 5.1 management console "Last Modified" sort order RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've recently upgraded to v5.1 from v5.0 SP2 HF4.  I notice that the "Last Modified" field in the management console is incorrectly sorting my packages.  Please see screenshot below, the first part is v5.1, the second is v5.0.  The first list of apps are not sorted correctly in decreasing date order (it seems to be sorting according to the month), while the second list is.  Has anybody else seen this issue?

  • Hi,

Do you have the same result when receiving the information with PowerShell?

    $pw = convertto-securestring -AsPlainText -Force -String "Password"
    $cred = new-object -typename System.Management.Automation.PSCredential -argumentlist "Domain\Username",$pw

    Invoke-WebRequest http://appv-server.local.lab/packages/ -Credential $cred

    $packages.ArrayOfPackageVersion.PackageVersion | Sort-Object -property @{Expression="TimeChanged";Descending=$true} | Format-List Name, TimeChanged

    Regards,

    Ryan

  • Thanks for your response.  I tried running the script you provided, but it only lists the first app as shown below.  Am I missing something?

  • Sorry my bad it should a RestMethod, so like this:

    $pw = convertto-securestring -AsPlainText -Force -String "Password"
    $cred = new-object -typename System.Management.Automation.PSCredential -argumentlist "Domain\Username",$pw

    Invoke-RestMethod http://appv-server.local.lab/packages/ -Credential $cred

    $packages.ArrayOfPackageVersion.PackageVersion | Sort-Object -property @{Expression="TimeChanged";Descending=$true} | Format-List Name, TimeChanged

  • I appreciate your help but now I'm just getting the following:

  • Sorry, I have some starting problems, I'm going to blame Monday for that. =)

The results are not stored in the a variable named $packages.

So replace the invoke command with the following:

    $packages = Invoke-RestMethod http://appv-server.local.lab/packages/ -Credential $cred

    Hope this works.

    Cheers,

    Ryan

  • Many thanks, it is now listing the packages in the required order.

I guess I'll need to contact Microsoft to see if the console can be amended/configured in any way.
