PerformancePoint and Sharepoint, Do I need Sharepoint Enterprise? RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hello All,

We are purchasing Performancepoint Server and we are trying to determine if we need Sharepoint Services, a Sharepoint Std. Cal, or a Sharepoint Std. Cal. with an Enterprise Cal? We want to be able to use all the features of PPS but it is very unclear if we need Sharepoint Enterprise to do this because PPS lists Sharepoint Services or Sharepoint Server as a requirement for some functionality.

Any help in clearing this up would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    James

  • James,

Here is a link that compares Sharepoint Enterprise vs. Standard:

One main difference is that Enterprise includes Excel Services functionality while standard does not.

  • Hi Jaciesla,

I believe EXCEL Services is part of MOSS Enterprise.  Excel Services report file can be accessed from Dashboard Designer.  Application can be configured either with WSS or MOSS.  It all depends upon on the requirement

Please take a look into the PerformancePoint Server Deployment Guide on prerequisites http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb794637.aspx

    Thank you,

Thank you both for your quick responses, with your help I was able to determine that PPS needed only Sharepoint Services.
