My laptop PC has no sound after Vista Ultimate upgrade RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently performed a Vista Ultimate upgrade on my laptop and now all I get is beeps. I checked to see if my sound card driver software is installed and it appears fine. However, the speaker icon at the bottom of the screen shows a little red x next to it and it displays "No Audio Output Device is Installed". It seems like a pretty simple problem to solve, but I'm having a heck of a time solving it. Can anyone help with a clear cut solution?

  • Hello,

First of all, you should go to the following webpage to check whether your sound device is compatible with Vista OS.

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/

Then contact your manufacturer to obtain the latest driver for your device (Vista compatible).

    Hope the information helps!
