Outlook 2016 online/cached mode RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I'm looking at outlook 2016 policy settings and I have a unique situation. I want outlook to online mode (which seems straight forward) but I am currently able (with outlook2010) to force a reg switch upon login to force cached mode for specific users on the fly. It doesnt look like this key exists in 2016.

    thoughts?  many thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

The registry key that control this is still there for Outlook 2016:

    Key: HKCU\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Cached Mode
    String name: enable
Value: 0 (to disable, default); 1 (to enable)

The corresponding Group Policy setting is "Use Cached Exchange Mode for new and existing Outlook profiles" under:

    User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Outlook 2016\Account Settings\Exchange\Exchange
